This course is designed to provide caregivers with an understanding of how to effectively engage with members who experience anxiety. Topics covered include identifying the qualities, causes, and common struggles of anxiety as well as communication, calming and supportive techniques proven to be beneficial for helping others to reduce chronic anxiety. This course is presented by Dr. Jennifer Bjerke. Dr. Bjerke is a seasoned mental health professional who has been working in the field of counseling since 1999. She is a licensed professional counselor whose specialties include crisis and trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adolescent issues and family concerns. Jennifer is also a professor of counseling and an instructional mentor at Liberty University in their master’s program for Counselor Education and Supervision. Her educational background includes an MA in Community Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and a Ph.D. in Counseling Studies from Capella University.
