We welcome you to a course that will provide an overview of diabetes, an epidemic affecting approximately 38 million Americans with sometimes devastating consequences. Sadly, these numbers are predicted to only rise. It’s a condition that can affect people of all ages and involves the hormone called insulin. There are several types of diabetes, and we’ll cover the most common forms that include Type 1, Type 2, Prediabetes, and Gestational Diabetes. Managing diabetes is important because it can help prevent or delay serious health problems that can affect almost every part of the body. This makes education about diabetes critically important.
