In this course, we will discuss how to create a safe environment for members with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, striking a balance between safety and compliance.

This course will provide you with an overview of Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA, including critical behavioral principles like the functions of behavior, and the ABC’s of behavior. As a cornerstone of ABA, principles of reinforcement will also be examined. The information provided will not be offered with a particular age group or population in mind. Rather, we will provide examples from varied age groups and populations served. This is intentional because behavioral principles should be considered with all populations served. At the end of the day, it is just good teaching.

NEW! This course gives an overview of the different types of diabetes, the causes, risk factors, and treatments.  Also includes general information about insulin and how providers can help members manage their diabetes.    

In this course, you will learn about the possible causes of elder abuse as well as warning signs, characteristics of abusers, self-neglect, and reporting.

This course will provide you important information about the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system.  Topics include: What is EVV?, benefits of an EVV system, technology needed to utilize EVV, frequently asked questions, and the scheduling feature of EVV.

 In this class, we will discuss what Huntington’s Disease is, symptoms of the disease, treatment, and stages of the disease.  

Description: By the end of today’s course, you’ll have a better understanding of various types of visual supports, like First/Then, visual schedules and choice boards. Of course we’ll also cover other effective, evidence-based teaching strategies like work systems, shaping and chaining, task analysis, and prompting procedures. We will start right at the beginning though, with the principles of reinforcement, a cornerstone in effective teaching that complement each and every other effective strategy.

The purpose of this training is to educate caregivers on water safety measures and provide guidance on preventing incidents in and around water, as well as what to do in case of a water emergency.

This course is a refresher to review how to use play skills to teach new skills. This class will review motivational procedures, responsivity, self-management and self-initiation procedures. This course is recommended for providers working with younger members in the ECA program for continuing education.
